Stewardship Campaign

 

 

As we approach the time where we make our financial commitment to the Lord for 2010, we can reflect on 2009 and be reminded of how completely faithful God is regardless of what may be happening around us. 2009 has been a year of great changes. Sometimes those changes have left us feeling unsettled but in the midst of all the uncertainties, God‘s steady hand has been on our church — meeting the church’s needs and encouraging us to plan wisely but confidently for the future.

This year’s stewardship theme, Imagine More, reflects FBC’s desire to press forward with Christ’s agenda. Imagine More reminds us that we are to always remember that God is faithful to finish those things He begins. So as we plan and fund this year’s budget, we can give with confidence knowing that God will see His work at First Baptist through to the end.

The prophet Malachi quoted God like this: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”

By obeying this scripture, we show our faithfulness to God and can expect him, in return, to bless us far in excess of anything we could give to him.
