Allegro School of Fine Arts

Welcome! We are excited that you are considering the Allegro School of Fine Arts to develop your God-given talents. Our goal is to provide you with the finest instruction possible in a Christian atmosphere. The following information will explain our policies and procedures for the year. These guidelines are designed to aid not only the daily operation of the school, but provide you with the information necessary to make your learning experience the most profitable.

Who May Enroll?

Lessons/classes are offered to anyone desiring to begin or continue instruction who has a genuine desire to learn how to play a musical instrument, sing, develop skills in art or dance. Adults and children may enroll and will receive appropriate instruction which is adapted to each student's age and experience. We encourage students to be involved in some aspect of ministry at their local church. If you don't have a local church, or your church doesn't have a creative arts ministry, we invite you to become a part of First Baptist's program.

How Do I Enroll?

If you wish to receive instruction through the Allegro School of Fine Arts please download the application form and mail it to the music office or call 334.241.5153. The student enrolls and pays a non-refundable $25.00 registration fee. The director will contact the appropriate teacher and set up a lesson time that meets your schedule.

Faculty

The Allegro School of Fine Arts is pleased to offer instruction by some of the most highly qualified musicians and artists in the Montgomery area. All instructors are approved by the Allegro School of Fine Arts Advisory Committee and are experienced in their field of instruction, both as teachers and performers.

Areas of Instruction

There is much excitement as we enter our second year of excellence in orchestral instruments, guitar, piano, and voice. Class instruction in art and dance, as well as Kindermusik, for the young is available!

Facilities

All lessons/classes meet at First Baptist Church. The entrance to the Allegro School of Fine Arts is on Scott Street. We ask that all students enter through this door and sign in at the information desk before proceeding to the lesson.

Recitals

Recitals are held near the end of the fall and spring semesters, and the faculty will schedule as many recitals as necessary to meet the needs of all the students. Although participation in recitals is not required, it is highly recommended that each student do so in order to build self-confidence and learn stage presence and performance etiquette.

Tuition and Fees

The Allegro School of Fine Arts operates on a semester system for scheduling and fees. The Fall and Spring semesters consist of 15 weeks. The Summer session consists of 8 weeks. However, students may start instruction at any time during the semesters.

Payment Plan:
Full payment of $300.00 is due at the beginning of the term.

There is a $25.00 administrative fee for failure of payment. Lessons/classes will not be given due to non-payment of the outstanding balance. Note: In some instances, voice students must pay for an accompanist to be at their lessons (arrangements will be made by the teacher). To register and pay online click here.

Refunds

We ask that each student finish the semester he/she starts. Students withdrawing within the first 4 weeks will receive a 75% refund. Students withdrawing within the first 7 weeks will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be given after 8 weeks.

Lesson Policies

All lessons/classes are conducted at First Baptist Church and are taught weekly during the student's given lesson time. It is the student's responsibility to notify the instructor if a lesson is to be missed. Make up lessons can be arranged only if the instructor is given at least a twenty-four hour notice, except in case of an emergency. If the instructor cannot be reached, the student must notify the Allegro School of Fine Arts. Failure to notify the instructor or the school will result in the student being charged for the missed lesson. Students are afforded two make up lessons per semester, any additional lessons missed for any reason will not be made up.

Inclement Weather Policy

If Montgomery City Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Allegro School of Fine Arts will be closed.
