Trust His Unseen Hand!

There is so much that we do not understand but one day in Heaven’s Sonlight all of our questions will be answered. Our puzzles solved. Our question marks will melt into God’s exclamation points!

But in the meantime, we need to learn to rest in our ignorance!  After all, if we knew everything, we would be God! Isaiah 55:8-9 explains that God’s ways are not man’s ways – “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Right now, there are many things that we do not understand. I do not fully grasp how a black cow eats green grass and gives white milk, but I certainly enjoy dairy products. Especially Blue Bell ice cream!

When your world gets stormy and your boat starts leaking, it is easy to wonder if God is real, loving, powerful and in control. When your loved one leaves or when you face a dangerous disease; you can find refuge in this bedrock fact: “Now we see through a glass dimly, but one day we will see face to face.” (1 Corinthians 13:12)

Furthermore, God’s Word reveals in the completing chapters of Revelation that in our heavenly home there will be “no more sea.” (Revelation 21:1) The absence of the sea means there is no more mystery. The sea represented a formidable obstacle to ancient man. So the removal of the vast oceanic mystery would symbolize a full understanding of God’s purposes. Consequently, in heaven there are no tearsbecause there will be complete comprehension of God’s activity. In the meantime, we must walk by faith — remembering that “without faith it is impossible to please God.” (Hebrews 11:6)  We must trust our Heavenly Father’s unseen hand and His kind heart. It is similar to the classic story about a little boy who was watching his grandmother do a needlepoint piece. He was talking to her as he lay upon the floor and looked up at the backside of her handiwork. He observed, “Grandmother, it seems like you’re making a mess. All I can see is frayed threads and ugly knots.” She patiently responded by explaining, “My darling, look at this. Here’s the finished product.” She flipped it over to display an exquisite masterpiece and instructed, “You were looking at the wrong side. Here is my finished work!”

So, take the Lord by a hand of faith. Learn to doubt your doubts and trust God’s kind provision. Determine daily that you will faithfully and obediently follow King Jesus and by His grace, He will lead you to a spectacular place.
