From multi-colored exterior lights in your neighbor’s yard, to the twinkling lights on a Christmas tree, Christmas is about LIGHT. Isaiah the prophet looked forward to Christ’s coming and proclaimed, “The people who lived in darkness have seen a great LIGHT.” He predicted that God would send an illuminating light. The angel shouted the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy in the middle of a dark Bethlehem evening when the blackness burst into a blaze of heavenly glory and the illumined angels explained, “I bring you good news of great joy. For there is born is the City of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord.” After Jesus was born, an old man name Simeon held Jesus in his ancient arms and pronounced, “Here is the LIGHT of God’s revelation to the people of the world.”
Are you walking around in a confusing fog of darkness? I have great Good News for you. Like the angels announced to the shepherd, hear God’s tailor-made declaration for your situation: JESUS CHRIST is the LIGHT of your world. Whoever follows Christ, does not walk in darkness, but possesses God’s illuminating and guiding LIGHT. (John 8:12)
My treasured friend: Receive His light. Walk in it. Share His illumination from your neighborhood to the nations!
