Robin Williams’ Productive Life and Tragic Death

Robin Williams’ personal assistant discovered the 63 year-old actor dead in his San Francisco home on August 11, 2014. He hung himself. In July, Williams announced that he was struggling with another bout of depression and substance abuse so he returned to a 12-step treatment program.
The famed entertainer started his career in the 80’s by playing a loveable alien in the sitcom “Mork and Mindy.” Over the years, his films have amassed over $5 billion at the box-office. He achieved fame, wealth and influence —yet in a last act of hopelessness, he hung himself. Evidently, Robin Williams felt overwhelmed and defeated. He could not fire the doubts. He listened to the lie and decided to die.
Let me remind you that there is a better way—THE JESUS WAY!
When a person embraces God’s free gift of eternal life, you are born again and God designed you TO WIN!
Your new birth in Christ has positioned you for VICTORY! God did not craft you to live in loser’s lane, but in the victor’s circle with Him. God calls you to march to the sweet new beat of His drum.
Choose to plug into God’s resurrection power and you will share His Victory. It works like this: Negative forces and selfish desires try to pull you away from a productive and protective walk with King Jesus. Old wounds, destructive habits, acidic attitudes, unclean desires, and toxic relationships will block your walk with God and make you feel like a worthless and defeated loser. But, in Jesus Christ, you have a new power source that you can plug into which enables you to say YES to God’s way and NO to the deceptive and destructive paths of this world. Practicing the empowering presence of Jesus motivated Paul to proclaim, “Thanks be to God who gives us the VICTORY through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord, your labor is not in vain.” (I Corinthians 15:57-58)
